Die Hauptursache der globalen Erwärmung sind Architektur und Gebäude. Gebäude sind verantwortlich für 40% des CO, das in die Atmosphäre ausgestoßen wird. Die Architekten müssen diese Verantwortung übernehmen und von der Geopolitik zu einer Politik der Biosphäre übergehen. "A Green New Deal" ist ein echter Beweis dafür, wie man dies erreichen kann. Im Kontext der Intervention steht ein historisches Gebäude Barcelonas: das Kunstzentrum Centro de Arte Santa Mónica ein Gebäude, mit dem die Dritte Industrielle Revolution als mögliches Element des Übergangs zu einer emphatischen Architektur erkundet werden soll. Die Natur erlaubt es uns, diesen Weg aufzuzeigen. Cloud 9 hat in den Bäumen vor dem Centro de Arte Santa Mónica Sensoren installiert, die Daten über Temperatur, Feuchtigkeit und Lichtenergie an das Gebäude übermitteln. Der Eingriff ist eine Installation an der Fassade, welche Energie aus der Umgebung gewinnt: aus Sonne und Wind. Sie besteht aus einer zusätzlichen Haut, die es erlaubt, das natürliche Licht zu kontrollieren und die Sonneneinstrahlung zu regulieren.
The number one cause of Global warming is architecture. Buildings are responsible for 40% of the Co2 that is emitted into the atmosphere. The architects must take this responsibility and move from geopolitics towards biosphere politics. A Green New Deal is a real test of how this can be achieved. The context for the intervention is an existing historic building in Barcelona, the Centre of Arts Santa Monica; a building to explore the Third Industrial Revolution as the potential of a transformation towards an empathic architecture. Nature should show us the path. Cloud 9 equipped the trees in front of Arts Santa Monica with sensors that capture data on temperature, humidity and light energy to inform the building. The intervention is an installation on the facade that produces energy from the environment, like the sun and wind. It is an additional skin which allows control of natural light and regulates solar radiation.
