Frits Lugt (1884-1970) was a self-taught collector and art historian, who collected a large number of unique drawings and prints during his lifetime. This collection has never been presented to the public as a single unit before and continues to astonish connoisseurs in individual presentations on account of its composition and singularity. This book provides the first overview of the drawings and prints collected by Firts Lugt and his successors. A large number of renowned institutes contributed to the book such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum in London and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris.
