This thick, beautifully photographed book presents a chronological selection of the finest works of ancient Egyptian art and architecture produced from about 4000 BC, when the first sophisticated works of art began to appear, to 200 AD, when Egypt had become a province of the Roman Empire and the old traditions had all but died out.
