"Jay Jopling opened the original White Cube, on the first floor of 44 Duke Street, St. James's, in London's West End, in May 1993. The gallery's exhibition policy was to provide a one-off showcase for British and international artists. The exhibition space, designed by minimalist architect Claudio Silvestrin, was a single room; a completely plain cube with white walls and no visible lights, providing an intimate and focused environment. Each artist was invited to show an important work of art or coherent body of work, in a single exhibition. There were seventy-five exhibitions presented at White Cube during its ten year residency at 44 Duke Street, St. James's, between May 1993 - September 2002". Eine hervorragende Publikation über eine herausragende, beispielhafte Galerietätigkeit.
